This workshop will explore various ways to stimulate observation and expression. Garry Shead will develop participants’ skills using a series of exploratory exercises in pencil, gouache or oil paint. Students will discover the expressive range and subtlety of paint as a medium, while learning some of the painting techniques of the Masters. This workshop is suitable for beginners and intermediate painters who want to develop their subject matter and enrich their painting techniques.

About your tutor
Garry Shead won the Archibald Prize in 1993 and is one of Australia’s most highly acclaimed lyrical painters. This workshop follows on from Shead’s successful October 2016 exhibition 'The Divine Comedy' at Australian Galleries, inspired by Dante’s literary classic 'Alighieri.
