Selena describes her work as ‘naturescapes’ because they are somewhat snapshots of pieces of nature. Selena’s works are always inspired by her love of colour, texture and nature. Selena’s ‘ala prima’ paintings record the discarded remains of human detritus in the natural environmentThe traces of the history and embodied remains of consumerism are contrasted against the landscape. Her paintings are evocative of the instability of life and allude to the beauty and fragility of the natural environment.
